What does a reel cost?

A reel has two charges — creating it and rendering it — and the exact amount depends on your choices. The app always shows the figure before you confirm.

The honest answer: it depends on the reel, and the app always shows you the exact figure before you confirm — that number is the price.

What drives the cost

A reel is two separate charges: creating it and rendering it. Within those, the amount moves with your choices:

  • The avatar engine for persona reels. The bigger part of the creation cost is the avatar work, and different engines cost differently — so the same reel can land at different prices depending on which engine you pick.
  • The length you render to. Rendering is priced in length bands, so a shorter reel renders cheaper than a longer one. (Reels over about a minute aren't rendered.)
  • Generated B-roll. Each generated scene adds to the total.

How to see the real number

Because these depend on your setup, we don't publish fixed prices that could drift out of date. Instead:

  • Before you create, Compose shows an estimate for the reel.
  • Before you render, the editor shows the render cost.
  • Cutting words out of a reel in the editor shortens it, which can drop it into a cheaper length band.

The figure shown before you confirm is always the amount charged. If you want to spend less, a shorter reel and reused footage are the two biggest levers.
