Set up your persona

A persona reel is a short video where an avatar speaks your script in your voice — from just a topic. Before you can generate one, your brand needs two things set up: a default avatar and a default voice. This page walks you through both.

Before you start — this is gated. Persona reels stay locked until your brand has one default avatar and one default voice. Open Compose ▸ Persona reel any time: if something's missing, it shows a short note with links straight to the pages you need. Setting up avatars and voices is free — the app shows any cost before you confirm.

1 · Create a default avatar

The avatar is the face that appears in the reel. You build it from a small set of photos.

1. Open Library ▸ Avatars.
2. Type a name in the field at the top and click Create.
3. On the new avatar's card, click Add images and upload a set of photos (PNG, JPEG, or WEBP). A few clear photos from different angles give the best likeness — the page shows a tip about this.
4. On one photo, click Set hero to mark it as the main frame. The hero photo gets an accent border.
5. Click Set default on the card. A Default badge appears — this is the avatar persona reels will use.

Optional: each avatar card has a voice dropdown. Leave it on Brand default to use the default voice you set below, or pick a specific voice to tie to this avatar.

2 · Set a default voice

The voice is what the avatar speaks with.

1. Open Library ▸ Voices.
2. Add a voice if you don't have one yet — clone it from an audio sample, design one from a written description, or adopt a ready-made connected voice. These options need ElevenLabs access; see clone your voice and your own keys.
3. Use the Test field on the voice card to hear it with your own words.
4. Click Set default on the card. A Default badge confirms it.

3 · Generate a persona reel

With a default avatar and a default voice in place, the gate lifts.

1. Go to Compose ▸ Persona reel.
2. Type your topic into the brief.
3. Submit. Ikrames writes the script, generates the avatar speaking it in your voice, and starts building the reel — the estimated cost is shown before you commit.

Your reel appears in Library ▸ Reels with a generating status, then opens in the reel editor when it's ready.
